I don’t understand the part in the Wiki… Especially:

Nevertheless, there are some pieces of text where the rule doesn't apply. For example, the following string should not be translated writing the numbers in full: [table]

Since you never get such a sentence (as the level of the soldier should be a $s or something), it’s hard to understand, why this number shouldn’t be written in words. Or do I just get it wrong?

@Venatrix: I know it's a stupid example. What I meant is that sometimes there are numbers which shouldn't be written in full - and one shall think before changing something ...

I found some numbers, I’d like to discuss: 5 Minuten and 10 Minuten. In connection with the time I’d use the digit in both cases. Though that’s more a feeling, as I didn’t find a hint about that at duden.de.

BTW, if I remember right, normally the numbers up to 12 are written full, not only digits. face-wink.png

I didn't change it just of that reason. But I don't know if there's any rule …

I just searched a bit in the internet, and both possibilities can be justified. The string is used in a whole sentence ("%1$s has been King of the Hill for %2$s!"). Just some arguments for each side:

Digits written out
makes the number faster recognizable disturbs less while reading
consistent with "15 minutes" a single digit in a sentence (5) looks odd

So have have not yet an opinion.

I went with the “digits are more consistent with ‘15 minutes’”. And in the case it’s needed, you’ll have to recognise the number relatively fast. It’s the count down from 20 minutes (more a count up to 20 minutes…) that can decide on your win or loss.
If you play Island Hopping in German language, you can have a look, how it is to your eyes. face-wink.png
