Thanks a lot for the replays, I hope I will find time to watch some of them soon.

Are they all watchable with b19? I don't see the needed build indicated somewhere, but I think I have read that the tournament matches should be played with b19 or b19-rc1. Last tournament the filename included the used build number.

B19 and b19-rc1 are fully compatible for everything face-smile.png

When you select a replay file, Widelands will now tell you the version number too.

SECOND ROUND HAS STARTED!

Pairings are published in the first post, in the wiki, and in the homepage.

Since people from remote time zones can only play on weekends, and they can't set up a game in two days, there is time until sunday 4 december to play this turn without penalties. I also edited the rules to take into account that.

So far, I haven't declared the tribes everyone will play. That's to give all time for a last minute change, since the turn ended before the final deadline. Tomorrow I will also post the tribes, and it will be too late to change them.

I'm sure there is something more I have to say, but I can't think of anything. Well, I will post again if I remember it. Good second turn!

I must issue a warning! Checkmate is not an easy playing map. We must take into account that playing matches to decision may take longer than 4 hours and players of this tournament must perpare for playing this round in multiple parts. Have you thought of that?

yes, the rules have a lot to say about playing a round in multiple parts. The key points, for those who don't want to read them all:

  • if you play in multiple parts you get no penalty for going past the first week

  • if you play in multiple parts and still you cannot reach the end of the game after two weeks, I will look at the replay and decide the result of the game, generally a draw unless someone is clearly winning. As always, if you think my decision is unfair you can appeal to einstein.

That said, checkmate is a small map. I think most people will manage it in one evening.

Hasi50 and me are going to play tomorrow (sunday) at 6pm CET. I'm going to host and we will play b19.

For my convenience: How would I interrupt a game without causing any failures. Can I just click the "Leave" button?

You should save the game first, otherwise all you will have is the last autosave - if you have autosave turned on! It is enough if the host has a savegame, but it can't hurt for everybody to make a save - there is no such thing as a backup too many.

Having autosave switched on is a good idea anyway in case of a desync or crash.

Thats a question for WorldSavior: dou you use auto wolrd savioring every five minutes (as I do) or even better? I actually do it like GunCheloc describes, always was feasible and we lost at most 5 minutes, most times less.

I wonder how the game synchronises when a player commits "save"? Is everybody else on hold then? Hopefully not crashing ..
