Can you tag the file? Maybe add tags for title, author, and license?

I would then make a branch and propose it for merging into the main trunk face-smile.png

Nice song, played it along an ongoing game of "The Nile" , perhpas you should try to get this more normalized (louder at the beginning, less loud in the middle) And of course it could be longer face-smile.png

I composed some musice myself (one made it, hey) Maybe you can improve this one

https://bugs.launchpad.net/widelands/+bug/1568929 or this one https://bugs.launchpad.net/widelands/+bug/1549963

I think we can use any licence that will allow us to include it in the game. At least you should declare in publice (with your real name) that you are the creator and grant the Wideland team to use it.

And please come up with more good songs / tunes.

Here are the widelands where people may dwell, walking around care that evrythings well.

I've re-uploaded it, tagged in Audacity with the name ("Hypatia's theme"), author (me: my name's Stuart Marshall, and I personally composed and performed this piece), and the licence I've chosen, which is CC-BY-SA v3. For the avoidance of doubt I authorise the Widelands community to edit and re-use this file in any way they wish.

Thanks face-smile.png

I pushed it into this branch. After i tested the branch i make a merge proposal. If everything is alright it will be available in the next official release (build 20) then.

You're very welcome. face-smile.png

How about this one? I know it's a bit less relaxing. http://www.mediafire.com/file/rd7kds23y5pray8/We_Work_in_the_Vineyards.ogg

Sounding very good so far face-smile.png

Some notes:

Hypathia's theme: In the first part, the flute is too shrill for me. Could you try lowering its volume in the mix?

Vineyards: The lead string could use some more reverb. The last note before the rest ends a bit abruptly, so the reverb might fix that.

Both songs would benefit from the first theme having a longer melody to reduce repetitiveness.

CC-By-SA is perfect face-smile.png

Hypatia's theme v2 changelog:- Flute in the first part moved back in the mix and also dropped one octave to make less shrill; harp moved up in the mix; main theme number of repetitions reduced; new themes added with underlying chord changes; generally diversified, complexified and made less repetitive. Side effect: longer. face-smile.png

We Work in the Vineyards v2 changelog:- Cello #1 reverb boosted a tad; last note now fades correctly. I haven't fiddled with the melody because I like it as it is. face-smile.png
