very good idea. I just proveided a new version of the Adon for upload here (https://www.widelands.org/forum/post/36785/) with an interesting map I found on the web side cleaned from coal.

that is a pity. However as we re currently 6 people without you you might get a forfait for the first round easily if this wold fix it. anyhow it was nice to read from you again

Updated / decided the maps for the rounds. Subscriptions still possible until sunday 21:00 CEST. Pairings will be announced at 22:00 CEST.

now it is time to fix the version for round 1. At what level is this tournament meant to be? Is it just for fun or do you take it very serious? I know how the game works, I've played every tribe once or twice, but I would not consider myself a professional gamer. I play for having fun, not for winning. I don't like the blind ambition that sometimes appears in the context of tournaments. If that's okay for everyone and the primary purpose is bringing people together, having fun and finding some bugs, please count me in!

Well there are some very serious and experienced players already inscribed. And in the name tournament is implicitly incorporated some kind of competition. However I was unsure whether it would be fun in my first participation as well. And I can say playing in a tournament is fun whether you loose or whether you win. For me the first matches taught me a lot about the game. So if you still like to participate You would be very welcome from my side.

Yes, some kind of competition is necessary of course... But it makes a difference if you are open to less experienced players, communicate friendly, try to teach etc. or just laugh at "this dumb idiot". I also know a newbie can be very dissatifying for an experienced player if you want an interesting opponent. So from my side, I will just try and maybe retire from the later rounds if it doesn't work at all. But I would also appreciate some more comments and totally respect if the majority doesn't want me in this tournament.

I'd like to see you in the tournament. Don't worry about being not an interesting opponent - as you are the only unknown participant for me you might even be the most interesting opponent ; ) Wanted to save the world, then I got widetracked

should this ever happen please let me know. This woud be very offending not only to you but to me as organisator of the tournament as well.
Well, almost all of our players had been newbies as well once in a time. And in a tournament you have stronger and weaker opponents. However our swiss tournament system is intended to match the good players against the good and the not so good to equal players as well.
Well, As we are usually short on player every player should be welcome.
