Not sure this is in the right forum- my apologies if it isn't, and perhaps a moderator would move it. On these forums, there is an icon by each posting which looks a little like a loaf of bread, Unread postings have 'steam' rising from them, appropriately. Perhaps I'm getting too old, but I have to peer at the screen to distinguish between an old loaf and a steaming loaf. Could the icons be changed to something more obvious, such as a loaf in a red-hot oven? Top Quote |

As I see it these icons are round brown buttons with a white sheet of paper that is written on in the case of new posts. But I must agree, that the differences aren't very obvious. I would prefer a change into another colour, too. Or bigger icons. That would be more comfortable for our eyes. Two is the oddest prime. Top Quote |

I think it would be better with white and red. I tried to make an example. Because of my lack of experience with Gimp I remodelled it with Inkskape. That's why my icons look a bit different So here they are in yellow (unread-colour from the subforums) , in white (read) and in red (my suggestion for unread). Just to give you an idea. I think, that difference is obvious enough for everyone. What do you think? edit: new paths set to images Edited: 2011-12-09, 14:35

The red one would stand out very well (as would a green or blue one)- I'm sure a simple colour change is all that is needed: no need for animation. Top Quote |
