As of the current Gamestate and the found Bugs I will surrender to stormax-e. Hi did his homework much better then I did, Congratulations!

I will spend the little time I have to check the new Map and to think about better strategies, now that I was confronted by the new ways of becoming attacked. I always thought about attacking only.

Hint for a campain: Replay the story of the Winkings attacking Lindisfane, as I felt just liek that: https://wikinger-online.de/lindisfarne/

They later event attacked Paris rowing up the Seine, so there is lots of stuff we can feed on.

And a big thanks to Norfreeese to spotting and fixing the Bug so fast! Naval Warwarfe is a big step for widelands an moves strategies to a new Level!

sorry for you being sacked by some barbarian Vikings ;-). But I agree that with naval warfare Widelands feels like a diferent game.
For the sake of completenes I would love if you or @stormax-e could upload the replay to the other thread.

I think that is no Problem, because we are currently in the first round and the second round has not started.

The news post says "Subscriptions are still possible until august 20th, 2023". And I'd look forward to having an opponent in the first round after all face-smile.png

carli2 and I will play tomorrow Saturday August 19 at 20:00 CEST.

We'd like to use the latest revision of the navalwarfare branch. This should be replay-compatible with the Tournament version, but it is not network-compatible, so spectators cannot join our game with the Tournament version. Are there any objections to this?

well I think everybody should use the same version for each round, spectating easily is a feature of a tournament for me and I beleive many others, so please use the tournament branch as everybody else.

@carli2 and @ everyone who self-compiles: If there's a bug that annoys you and for which a fix exists already and is just not part of the last tournament version, you can include individual harmless patches in your build through cherry-picking them, e.g.

                                                          # soldier display while destroying/dismantling it.

Obviously don't do that for patches that change game mechanics, such as the pending fixes to ship battles and soldier targets.
