Round 1 - Calvission
Thursday 17 August 20:00 to 22:40 CEST
WorldSavior (Green, Amazons) vs. Mars (White, Amazons)
WorldSavior won by surrendering Mars. Overall, there were two key moments.
The first key moment where Mars established a beachhead on WorldSavior's island, WorldSavior ignored this initial and launched a counterattack on Mars.
When counterattacking, WorldSavior managed to deal large building damage and medium soldier damage to Mars.
Shortly thereafter, WorldSavior even managed to capture a warrior's dwelling, giving him a view of Mars' headquarters.
Mars lost its headquarters as a result, because there were no longer any soldiers stationed at the headquarters for defense.
This caused lasting damage to the economy and infrastructure of Mars. Mars managed to stop the invasion, but this threw him back in development.
WorldSavior used the time to upgrade its soldiers and continue to grow and expand its economy.
The second key moment where WorldSavior massively increased its ship capacity, resulting in a 20:6 shipyard-to-building ratio.
After the first key moment, Mars relies on a warship defense. Mars was even able to stabilize its badly hit economy again, but the lead over WorldSavior could no longer be caught.
Ultimately, WorldSavior also changed the second balance of power, the number of ships in his favor and started one last major ship battle.
The game crashed during the ship battle, but it was already foreseeable that WorldSavior would also come out cheaper in this sea battle.
After the game crash, the task took place.
This puts WorldSavior in the lead in the 2023 Widelands Naval Warfare Tournament
and is the first player with the first point. (Processed)

Wow, how did you put up with all the crashes? Or were they just network problems?
It was interesting to watch. You both had more fun with the new features than what would have been actually required to win, and didn't use the full potential of them at the same time. It looks like everybody will need getting used to thinking of port spaces much more as a threat too.

@ Teayo: Thanks for the summary!

What do you mean by "put up"? No, most of them had been crashes of the game. For example there is a new bug: The match crashes when you dismantle a military building, if the mouse is close to the soldier buttons. Nowadays the game also runs very often into "Speicherabzugsfehler" or something like that (some problem with memory).

Just this. 10 parts due to crashes? I am surprised you didn't postpone the match after the 3rd crash or so.

Well, we already postponed one time, so its annoying to postpone again. And re-opening the match isnt such a big issue anymore. In the past the file transfer was sluggish, now its fast so you can continue rather quickly.

I will surrendered to stormax-e as I got the Basic of naval warefare wrong and he caused massive damagae to my otherwise evolved economy.
In additon I was hit by the Bug mentioned in https://github.com/widelands/widelands/issues/6085.
You can find some related savegames in the Bug especially in case you want to see the (almost) final result.
Here are the widelands where people may dwell, walking around care that evrythings well.
