I played relatively short match against Teayo today which I won. After conquering his weakly defended harbor and building my own there, I continued by expanding that area, which shortly after led to Teayo's surrendering against my significantly stronger army. Edited: 2023-11-05, 11:32

Nice match, congrats to WorldSavior. I wonder if there would be ever a person who could beat him I've partly watched the game between Carli2 and Hasi50 on twitch, nice conversations over there. Anyway i think they haven't finished their match and have to continue it?

Thank you. I was lucky because hessenfarmer wanted to test Amazons - I think in this version they have difficulties to keep up with the growth of barbarians on big maps. Additionally, the Nile seems to be a map which is rather disadvantageous for Amazons, but advantageous for Barbarians.
It happened sometimes. For example I was outperformed in some categories in the tempo training tournament... And if you look at this tournament: Elefantenrennen exploited a big mistake of mine (I didn't build empty gold mines for too long, while he did) - so this match was actually quite close. Wanted to save the world, then I got widetracked

He didn't seem to have any problem with quartz production. His stone workshops were full with quartz all the time, and they only missed ironwood. So it's not this version's fault. Rare trees hadn't been touched by the balancing (or any other) changes. But he was caught by surprise by you attacking with almost all of your starting soldiers. (too bad we can't have any mitigation for that in v1.2) Maybe if he had realised that that was basically all your military force, then he wouldn't have given up immediately. OTOH your economy was so much stronger that it didn't matter much when he gave up.

I think it was just a silly mistake to dismantle all military Buildings and not guard the port spaces by some fortresses or ports. And my expansion was slowed down due to rare trees production started lately which is a problem with this map.

Me and the-x started our game but haven't finished it yet. If you're wondering why there's such a large time gap between when we started our game and now, it's because we had a 2 hour break in the middle. The game result is still very open.
