After reading https://www.widelands.org/wiki/AmazonsPage/, I would name the tribe according to native inhabitants of amazon jungle. There is alternative, naming it according to female warriors and hunters from greece myths (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazons). Translation to Slovak language is different for these two options.

I see also english texts with tendency to use only females as workers (notice she and her)

initialization/amazons/units.lua:1329: pgettext("amazons_building", "The jungle preserver or jungle master plants one tree between %1$s and %2$s, depending on how far she has to walk."):bformat(format_seconds(20), format_seconds(45)),
buildings/productionsites/amazons/woodcutters_hut/init.lua:67: message = pgettext("amazons_building", "The woodcutter working at this woodcutter’s hut can’t find any trees in her work area. You should consider dismantling or destroying the building or building a jungle preserver’s hut."),
initialization/amazons/units.lua:1610: note = pgettext("amazons_building", "If you’re low on soldiers to occupy new military sites, use the downward arrow button to decrease the capacity. You can also click on a soldier to send her away.")

How to translate amazons workers? All professions in feminine gender?

see my post here https://www.widelands.org/forum/post/37928/
they are the mythological female warriors living in the amazon basin (giving the region its name) named after the mytholigical greek women by the monk carval from the expedition of Francisco Orellana.
