Welcome to the infinite tournament "Fast Explorer"!

This tournament is not an official tournament and it is just for single players. All what counts is time... expand you territory the fastest while building an economy to create 4 heroes sitting in a warship. If you reached this goal the game will end and prompts you with the time you needed.

To get started

  • Install the "Fast_Explorer" add-on (containing the maps)
  • Install the "Fast Explorer Wins" add-on (containing the win condition)
  • Start a new game with the map "Fast Explorer SP" from the add-on (The other map in the add-on can be used to play with your friends in a multiplayer game)
  • Choose a tribe
  • Starting condition is "Headquarters"
  • Set the win condition "Fast Explorer Wins" in the "Configure this game" drop-down. Note that this win condition will enable naval warfare and disables diplomacy automatically.
  • It is not allowed to use "Custom starting positions"
  • Start the game

If you can't find the needed add-ons please wait, they might need some time for proofreading.

Rules (might get adapted)

  1. You can play with every version you like. The only limitation is that debug builds are NOT allowed
  2. Starting condition is "Headquarters"
  3. You can play as often you want. If you think you can't get a better time:
    1. Make a screenshot (shortcut F11) after the game has end, preferably cut the image to contain only the result window
    2. If you played the game in several sessions, zip together all related replays. If there is a replay missing your time will not count
    3. Publish the image and the replay(s) in this topic
  4. If a player provides a new personal record the new time will overwrite the old time
  5. If you are convicted of cheating, you will be banned from this tournament
  6. Ranking will be done per tribe. Each tribe gets it's own table of times
  7. The following add-on types are NOT allowed:
    • Script add-ons
    • Tribe add-ons except "Europeans Tribe (Base Addon)" and "Europeans Tribe (Main Addon)"

Edit 1: Clarified which versions are allowed; Added the rule to not use "Custom starting positions"

Here's a screenshot of my first attempt. This is not an official entry yet, so no replay. It was with a PR branch anyway.

This is extreme with Empire... I didn't expect I'd run out of marble so fast... Speaking of that, how will you count entries with different versions if balancing changes are merged that change a tribe significantly? Like CB#4468 that is supposed to make Amazons much harder or something like CB#4891 that is supposed to make the Empire much easier (at least WRT marble)? (I don't consider CB#4866 significant in this regard though.)

Yes, but can be managed. In general one need a lot of micromanaging in this tournament, at least with Empire.

That's one of the reasons i added the version entry in the tables face-smile.png

face-smile.png Good trick with the warehouses. I didn't thought of that.

First i couldn't believe that making one hero after the other is possible within a minute, but after watching the replay i understand.
