2. If you played the game in several sessions, zip together all related replays. If there is a replay missing your time will not count

Is it allowed to branch off a new attempt from an earlier worse one? Case in point: I played with Barbarians yesterday, and got 2:41. Today I started from yesterday's autosave at 40 minutes gametime, and got 2:29. Would the 2 replays (0 to 2:41 and 40 to 2:29) count as a 2:29 result? (though I'm not sure if I want to: I think I could do better, just don't feel the energy to do it all over again)

WorldSavior, a lot of fluctuation in the Trainingarena face-smile.png

Hm, in a normal tournament you can't switch back. So i would tend to not allow this, but i am open for other opinions.

Because you opened this topic: Probably the replays of WorldSavior's game with Amazons are created the same way? At least there is a difference in time of 4 minutes between those replays, if i interpret the filenames and timestamps correctly. Since he get a better time with Amazons in one go later, this has currently no impact.

OK, perfectly valid point.

That's what happens if somebody continues the game from the last autosave after a crash. OTOH you can always run the replay to the end and create a new save from its final state, and use that for resuming the game. So it's technically possible to set the rule to always require continuous gametime in case of multiple replays.

I have my first attempt behind me today. I didn't watch any replays posted. I wanted to know how successful will I be with my own strategy. And I wasn't very successful. I knew that I have to expand quickly but I didn't know what it really means until I tried. Just to reach the gold took me ages. I played Frisians and I finished at 2:56:08. I may post my next attempt later. This one is not worth tracking in the best times table.

But I still don't know when my second attempt will be. I am kind of busy now, testing my new tribe (my 3rd one actually, I have lost the two previous ones on a broken flash disk face-upset.png , still didn't overcome this trauma properly, maybe it will be possible to recover the data sometime later ... ). After 2 Asian tribes (Sumerians and Chinese), I have an African tribe now. I called it Kongo. It's kind of Amazons style tribe. It changes Amazons game mechanic too, so I am busy testing. I already like it, AI still don't...

A new tribe sounds interesting. If you have any specific issues with the AI please contact me, maybe I could help.
If you might at least consider to have it in the official version I would recommend to open a new thread to discuss it more intensively.

Frisians doing Frisian things ; )

No, I always start from zero. In my first amazon attempt, I've build a cacao farm at the start. In the second, I've build a rare forester instead.

Ok, after I finish the testing I will open a new thread. It can take 2-3 weeks. With the AI it is always complicated. So I will welcome help. The tribe will probably remain as an addon tribe because it changes the world too (it is 2 addons actually, tribe+world). You need terraform to play winter maps and terraform is made very cheap (you use a production building "Thermal Springs" for that). Palms are important for the tribe and there are new tropical animals (you hunt crocodiles). The changes in world apply to amazons as well. I will have problems with graphics too. I already did some but I always just take the already existing graphics and modify it. Once I will be happy with that I will post more.

Here's my entry with Empire for v1.2.1.

I didn't prioritise exploring towards the port enough, an even before that, missed the completion of a few sentries, but I don't think that amounts to more than a few minutes in total, so I don't think I could do much better than this.

It'll be interesting though to test and compare my Empire balancing branch with this. Actually, this map convinced me that I should have both the quarry improvement from the existing PR and the buildcost changes from my not yet published branch, which I considered originally as a replacement for the quarry improvement.
