I dont know if this has been brought up so I will ask, widelands currently offers some formidable uncrossable terrains but is it possible to add other terrains like uncrossable rock? Not lava rock, which I use in places, but mountainous rock that could be used in place of lava/snow/swamp. Would this have to be an add-on? There have been places on my maps where the current uncrossable terrains have had to be used but were rather inappropriate to the idea I had, Thoughts anyone ?

Yes, this is possible with add-ons.

You may can take a look at the add-on "Impassable Water" (category "Wold") to get an impression how such an add-on will work.

I think the last level of the Frisian campaign has something like that. I don't know how it's implemented, but as a a player I see it's there, so you could look how it's done in the context of that scenario (without an add-on).

I haven't yet played the frisian campaign so I'll give it a go and keep an eye on it. Thanks for the info, if it is what I need I'll study it, if not it may give me an idea how to dot this without an add-on

It's a scenario defined terrain type, so basically the same as an add-on.
