Actually I've never lost in a funny way. : ) It's always an agony and involves a lot of shouting and swearing.

Patience young padawan, the force will show you the right way, if it does not, 'Force, use more you must ' face-smile.png Actually, I got smoked by a 16 year old on saturday playing on the Too Rocky map, overconfident I was , and she
showed me the error of being too cocky by sneaking up and taking out my HQ when I wasn't watchiing.
Even old timers get it wrong sometimes.

Heh, I'm an awful WL player. Stupidly I even know what my problem is: I don't build enough. Decades of playing Civ, Col, Moo, Mom and other 4X's has ingrained in me that you can only build 1 of each type of building! I suppose what helps a bit is when I play on a big map and have "regions" that I can build up as separate "cities". Then my old brain allows me to build dups (after all every Civ city has a barracks and a temple and a marketplace...). Worse yet is that from Civ I'm used to the idea that buildings are EXPENSIVE. My god they are so cheap in WL I can hardly fathom it.

Oddly though it's how "weird" WL is to me that keeps me coming back to it.

Hmmm... 16 year olds beatin' ya, eh? Yer brains need more vegemite, mate! ; )

yeah, with that 16 y.o you might be right, but she is smart, really smart. As a warcraft, starcraft and the like player, I'm used to building a lot of buildings, with WL, I start out building 2 quarries, 3 wood cutters, when thier done, I build 1 metal workshop, 2 axe workshops and 1 helmsmith THEN i start on the rest of my economy.
Normally , about halfway through the game, I can have a lot of farms, wood cutters and mines running with multiple taverns , inns etc
going. I am used to building a lot of support for large militaaries, so WL is actually a boon as it doesnt seem to have an upper limit
on soldiers, of which I normally have a LOt by games end, not to mention OXes, Steaks, anyone ?
