The simplest solution would be to build an addon and simply test different solutions.

Furthermore the old tribes have a legacy to keep, so in my personal view we should keep their characteristics as much as we could and be very careful to do necessary changes for balancing reasons in the least intrusive way.

I fully agree.

And i do not understand why the hell (sorry) an old tribe should be changed while it is proven to be relatively balanced as it is now. As Teayo pointed out implementing this suggestion may also need other changes, which may need changing another thing also and so forth.

Changing Empire "just because there is no drink as in another tribe" is definitely no reason.

Watered wine is a shoddy practice of the worst kinds of drinking places...

Changing Empire "just because there is no drink as in another tribe" is definitely no reason.

Isn't it more visually and mechanically appealing if equally valuable buildings from different tribes also have the same number and kind of inputs?

Each tribe has its own unique flavor.

Barbarians -> Beer, Frisians -> Mead, Empire -> Wine, Amazons -> Chocolate, Atlanteans -> simply Water

Besides, doesn't a soldier want to have a drink while training in the arena? After all, the game also tells its own canonical story.

I will make an addon for this, so no need to change the game data.

-1 A really bad idea based on my playing experience. I totally agree with all arguments of hessenfarmer, WorldSavior and kaputtnik. The problem of Empire is marble. Colosseum is extremely expensive and building costs of wine production is marble expensive too. On some maps marble is rather rare and it will negatively affect the game. I really don't see the argument that soldiers in Colosseum have to be thirsty so lets put there wine as relevant at all.

I usually have a surplus of wine in the game. Currently, it's only needed for the mines. In fact, bread is usually the bigger bottleneck, as you first have to get wheat from the farm, then grind it into flour in the mill and then bake it into bread in the bakery.

There are no good arguments for making this change. You are probably joking now. I also have some wine left but after 3 hours of game maybe. Not when I should start mining marble, gold, build Colosseum and train soldiers in evade. And even after that 3 hours, the amount of wine I have would not be enough to train all my soldiers. In contrary, if I needed to build even bigger wine economy to train soldiers in evade, first then I would have plenty of wine after 3 hours of game not knowing what to do with it. But you can create an add-on for that. You can maybe find also another changes that make Empire even harder to play and present it as a challenge add-on. From my point of view (and not only mine, when you read the posts here), Empire is already hard enough, that is why I always play it with my Barbarians-Empire Upgrade add-on and I like this easier version even more.
