Hello face-smile.png

I am a newcomer to Widelands.

$ uname -a
Linux Ingmard 5.16.0-5-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 5.16.14-1 (2022-03-15) x86_64 GNU/Linux
$ widelands --version
This is Widelands version 1.1 Release

I played the four tutorials, played a free game on a small map, and played the easy campaign.

  • Saving works.
  • Autosave works.
  • Replays are not stored. The directory is empty. As the saves are good, I don't think there is a problem with path or permissions.

Do you know why I have no replay ?

Hi Fl0ri4n,
welcome to the forums.
Replays in widelands are not videos but a real reappliance of all user commands in a game. these are not stored for our tutorials or campaign scenarios as the scriptiong code included there would make them run out of synchronisation with the game engine.
But if you played a free game, you should have at least 1 replay available in the replays folder, for that. How did you check the folder? by a file explorer, the console or with the ingame replay function?

Thank you.

I don't know the english version but I played "un joueur ..." / "Nouvelle partie" / "Scenarios solo" / "Le plateau vert" ( "One player" / "New game" / "Scenarios solo" / "The green plateau" ). Should I understand replays are only for multiplayer games ?

Lists are empty ingame, and in a console.

As hessenfarmer said, scenarios prevent saving replays, because they will not work.

Replays are saved with single player and multiplayer games if the game isn't a scenario or tutorial. That is every game using normal maps. On the opposite every map defined as a scenario will not save replays, regardless of multiplayer or not.
