Hmm.. I was curious and downloaded that zip.
Unpacked a folder "2011-10-29T19:33:55 network player 0 (host).wrpl.wgf" into my "replays" folder, but
it does not show when I try to load it in the game.
My other files in the replay dir have a directory "2011-10-31T18.45.56 singleplayer.wrpl.wgf" plus a file "2011-10-31T18.45.56 singleplayer.wrpl"
Those I can watch -- but they are not multiplayer replays, of course.
Where is my mistake?

Being no programmer, I apologize for all my suggestions that imply undue workload and for other misjudgements due to lack of expertise or relevant skills.
I am on Win32, have no means to compile, and rely on prefabricated distributions (Thanks to Tino).

Nowhere! My mistake was to not include the replay file itself, only the associated savegame. Corrected and reuploaded.

All is fine now ...except that I cannot make the replay play. I puts itsself into pause mode all the time. So I must keep PgUp pressed to see it. (clean installation of r6048) That goes for some, but not all of my replays. Any clues? Should I do a bug report about this?

no bug report is necessary: replays only work on exactly the same version they were recorded on because it is basically just a dump of the binary player commands given. It pauses the game because it went out of sync. You need build 16 to watch the replay.

We also have lots of changes from the WiHack such as:

  • slider to adjust time shown in the the statistics windows
  • the HQ/stock list of wares have been flipped and are now shown horizontally
  • made it possible to adjust the amount of wares in buildings.
  • rather than simply burning them down, it is now also possible to dismantle houses and get some of the building materials back.
  • several other fixes and tweaks

Since this added a lot of changes in short time, there may be as of yet undiscovered problems with them. With the help of more players we may notice (and hopefully fix) them sooner. Therefore it would be useful to some testers join us and see if we are able to discover any problems which should be fixed. (If you do happen to come across any issues, please file a bug report (see http://wl.widelands.org/wiki/ReportingBugs/), or at least mention it either here on the forum or in the IRC chat on the play day. face-smile.png )

So for those who want to, it would be nice I we could play some games with the latest development version for that weekend. All you need to do is to grab the latest development version for your operating system and install it. WARNING: Please note however that the development version might be slightly unstable from time to time as changes happen rapidly. So if you prefer a more stable experience, stick to the official builds instead.

Anyways, see you at the play day! face-smile.png

As ixprefect just merged the WIP ship branch we will likely also have a highly experimental multiplayer scenario on an unbalanced map to test ships. Or someone whips a fair ship card together till then?

I was thinking maybe one of these months someone/we could organise something like a double elimination tournament if we can get enough people (i'd say about 8+) interested? So like instead of having 1 playday for the month (of the tournament), have a game or 2 each weekend or something.

I could imagine timezones being an issue (for some people atleast), but for people like me who have finished school/university courses for the year I have a lot of spare time face-tongue.png

I havn't put too much thought into it, but I thought it might be a good (and fun) idea face-grin.png
