Should I mention that you vote by posting a message here in the thread?

At the least, we may just see a galley pop up as the "ship-wreck headquarters" in the first empire campaign. When I ever get around to recreating THAT. face-wink.png

That is pretty much my opinion on the matter. Merchant ship +1

FINAL TALLY

galley= +1, merchant= +5 with countless abstentions face-wink.png

So the warship goes into mothballs for now and I will concentrate on the corbita.

It took a good amount of web-crawling, but I unearthed a schematic for a model Roman merchant ship that has helped me with the hull profile. Here is the plan:

Combined with the various images I've gleaned, I should have enough references for a nice piece of eye candy. face-wink.png

Stay tuned for updates.

We have a saying in the U.S., SirVer, "You snooze, you lose." face-smile.png

I definitely agree with you that both ships would be a great addition to the game, but right now we "only have one nickel to spend in the candy shop." face-wink.png

Thank you to all who voiced a preference. I hope to have something to show my progress for you soon. To do that, though, I'd better get back to work. face-grin.png

Edited for spelling

For those who may be curious as to EXACTLY where I stand with the ship, here is a snap of the blender model as it currently stands:
PR1

LOTS more to do!!

PS - Don't worry about the color of the hull. face-wink.png

Progress Report

I made some headway today. This is how the ship stands now:
PR2

Still have to clean up the railing area, do the castle, tillers, hatch, rigging, etc., etc., ... Zzzzzzz

Goodnight. face-smile.png

Very promising, Chuck, as always.
Dammit, why I am too dumb to create such models, huh? face-grin.png
I really must venture into Blender some time ....given time.....

Wow, you became much more sophisticated with your use of blender, chuck! I like the ship - she looks very sturdy. I am not too fond of the swan though - it somehow mismatches my understanding of the empire. They are very arranged and military type of society - I doubt the swam would have much position in their mythology.
