Hey Chuck :),

that already looks very nice! My very first impression was something like a window ... I only realized the cubic look after a second look. So how about a bit of snow or ice sparkles on the ground around the ice cube to emphasize the origin of that cube and to show that the Worker was indeed working on that stuff before? face-smile.png

Just my 2¢ - and as always: Thanks for another great and impressive artwork, Cuck :)!!

I'll see what I can do. I've never made snow before. Of course, by the same token, I'd never made ice before. face-wink.png

Here is a try at a cloth banner:

Is this any better? Do you want different colors? I aimed for something that looked both earthy and would coordinate with the landing page.

I think the cloth is okay but I think "Welcome" is better than "Widelands" for the image in the welcome/introduction box. I don't share your concerns about translation, because the website is not translated. And even if we might make it translatable in the future I don't think there is a problem with an English welcome in a picture.

Alright then, I'll change the sign to say "Welcome" and post it ASAP. face-smile.png

I modified darkened the border of the welcome sign a bit to better match the wood color and added a thin border to set it apart from the barbarian's braces. It is on the website now.

Wow! Seems like there's been a lot going on lately! Cool :) I've got an idea for the welcome-guys: Make the banner tied between two staffs hold by the atlantean and the imperial, so it waves above their heads. That way one could also see the legs - plus the ball hands wouldn't be that obvious due to the grip around the staff... Worth a try?
