1 6

2 Tall tower

3 Previous tower

Personally, I find the tall tower distracting and it does nothing to enhance game play. The mere suggestion of a tower is sufficient to identify the building.

What do the rest of you think?

Yes, the tall tower is definitely too tall.

What I do not like about your latest suggestions is that the scout's hut is so tiny, compared to the lumberjack's hut. It looks a bit like a toy house.

Seen in context, the hose is definitely too small. Maybe move the tower closer to the building again so it sort of grows half out of the roof / will lean against the wall? Since it is behind the building now, we don't need to be really explicit in how the structure is attached.

I agree. My preference is to keep the hut at its original size, matching the other huts and the tower should remain "treehouse-tall". In fact, if there is another way to convey the identity of a scout's hut, I would love to hear it. I have even considered remodeling the building as more of a tent or lean-to. Maybe something like a yurt?

Personally, I'd stick with something similar to the version 18 scout's hut, but modify the tower so it's a lookout accessed from inside the hut (much like imperial sentry). That'd also let you put the scout looking out there when there's a scout in the building but he's not actively exploring.

A good idea, well worth consideration. Thanks.

Here is a style I would propose in lieu of the tower. It is sturdy enough to be a permanent home and its hexagonal walls will make it readily identifiable.

Should I consider this style?

That looks like an octagon, not a hexagon (opposite walls are parallel, so you'll never see both at once without a mirror, so you usually see three hexagon walls or four octagon walls), but otherwise it seems fine.

Of course it is an octagon. I'm just typing without thinking (again). face-smile.png

Thanks for your input.

For the tower lovers:

I have a better feeling about this one. The size of the hut is comparable to the other small buildings and the tower seems sufficiently tall to my eyes.

What do you think?
