So we never had a rule who said to not put the accents. Plusieurs personnes ont effectivement appris ou entendu dire qu’il ne fallait pas accentuer les majuscules ou les capitales. Il est vrai qu’en écriture manuscrite cursive on accentue rarement les majuscules. Il faut aussi reconnaître que l’accentuation des capitales est loin d’avoir été pratiquée systématiquement par tous les typographes de toutes les époques. Des contraintes techniques pouvaient rendre la chose difficile, mais les typographes consciencieux ont habituellement accentué les capitales. Leur accentuation était aussi chose malaisée à la machine à écrire, mais les dactylographes ingénieux trouvaient le moyen de le faire. Aujourd’hui, les systèmes informatiques bien configurés permettent d’utiliser sans problème les capitales accentuées.
