I am sorry but I have to cancel the game tonight. I came down with the stomach flu and I am unable to play for three hours - need to be inbed . I guess this will keep me out for the rest of the week. Can we reschedule for next week?

That's a pity. Get well soon!

I updated the doodle, because I'm going to have time this weekend. So if you'd see that you would be healthy enough again, you could let us know ;-) Maybe that would be helpful - in case that everyone would still have time then.

And by the way: Notabilis might have time this sunday, too. Maybe.

I am back in action again - one day of throwing up and one day of sleeping in worked wonders. I could do Sunday evening, starting at 7.30pm.

seems fine. i may be with friends at the time, but they are the kind of friends with whom i can bring out a laptop and start playing. they'd probably spectate at least for a while.

And let's make it clear: are we talking CET or UTC?

P.S. The flu had the same exact effect on me. one day of throwing up, one day of sleeping, then fine. i prefer it like that rather than a protracted illness.

P.P.S janus and epicspartan are not answering messages, and neither gave me his email. they are probably going to be declared retired.

good, so we are set for tomorrow (sunday) at 19:30 CET (18:30 UTC).

I came up with a few extra rules dealing with teamplay. Probably there is no need to state them, but it's the kind of thing that is better to agree beforehand.

  • in order for a team to surrender, both players must agree to it. If the team does not surrender, both players need to be defeated. If a player is defeated but his teammate still wins, the defeated player still counts as a winner.

  • the map should be well balanced, and it gives some good defensive positions; so it is possible nobody gains an advantage, especially in the later turns when we all can look at what everybody else did and ape what worked best. In case we all sit in the middle making army but never gaining enough advantage to attack, I propose that after then hours of in-game time if nobody has gained a significant military advantage the game is declared a draw. If one team believes it can win, it must attack right there or accept the draw. If we speed up the game after the beginning, we can reasonably reach 10 hours of gameplay in 4 hours of real time.

  • draw can be agreed before that term; for a team to propose draw or agree to the proposal, both players must agree, so draw by agreement requires the consensus of all 4 players.

EDIT: I also updated the first post with the second phase

I think especially the second rule is a really good call. I added an event for the game into the sidebar.
