External Data Processing
Web Host
The web host is providing the infrastructure and disk space for widelands.org.

The responsible parties have signed a contract for data processing with the web host.
Registration (Google reCAPTCHA)
For registration on widelands.org, the 'Google reCAPTCHA' service is being used to make it harder for 'bots' to register.

Reason for this data processing: 'bots' are capable of adding very large quantities of (advertising) contributions to the forum and to other areas that are accessible to registered users. The web site’s operator has a legitimate interest in preventing this (GDPR Art. 6 (1) f)

Internal Data Processing
Logging
Each access to widelands.org will be logged. The following data will be saved:
- IP-address (anonymized)
- Browser ID
- Referrer
- Date and time of the request
Reason for this data processing: This data is used to identify and protect against attacks and therefore there is a legitimate interest by the web site’s operator (GDPR Art. 6 (1) f).
The log files will be deleted after a period of 7 days.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that will be saved on your end user device. widelands.org will set two cookies:
- csrftoken: This will be set when the website is requested and is used to help protect against csrf-attacks. It will be deleted when the browser is closed.
- sessionid: This will be set on login and serves to identify a session. It will be deleted after 14 days.
It is possible to disallow all cookies in your browsers’ settings or to delete individual cookies. However, if cookies are disallowed for widelands.org, registering or logging in will not be possible.
Reason for this data processing: Permission of cookies is deemed voluntary (GDPR Art. 6 (1) a)
Data Related to Registration
During the registration process, we will only save the e-mail address and the chosen username. This data is not passed on to third parties.

Extensions
Some of the extensions that we are using will save the IP-address, e.g. when maps are being rated. Since these extensions are provided by third parties, we are unable to prevent this, but we guarantee that we will not pass on the IP-addresses or do any further processing on them.

You have the capability of deleting your own account. The consequences of deleting an account are described on the Delete Me page.
