Since the new view of latest posts is running for while, i want to give it some more love... but first i want to know your opinion on that view:
The first thing i want to do is to give it a TOC, like we have in the wiki (the small box on the top right). The TOC will contain the headers so one can quickly jump to the topic/forum of interest. What do you think about that idea? Edited: 2019-07-21, 10:55

You made a typo in your latest posts link. Anyway, the page is very useful. Not sure if a TOC is needed, though it wouldn't hurt to have one. One possible improvement I can think of is removing quotes of previous posts from the post previews (the "User wrote: Blahblah" parts). Top Quote |

Thank you very much for your response
Ok... the reason i have done it like that is because i thought some people might not know exactly who wrotes the post, but maybe remembers the first words. Maybe i am wrong here Top Quote |

I'm not proposing to remove the post previews, just edit them a little. I'll try to explain. For example here:

Yes, when I don't see the topic on the right of the homepage. That is the easiest way to search through the forum .
Yes, it would be very useful! einstein13 |

Many thanks for your input @niektory: I'll try that, but its not that easy. I think it would be good to have at least something like "(Quoting...) answer" in the output. I didn't managed so far to implement something like "(Quoting...) Yes (Quoitng ...) another answer ...", but i am on it. @einstein13: Implementing a TOC is easy, but i struggle to find a good styling. Top Quote |

Give it the same styling as on the wiki and let's use that as a baseline to see if we need to change anything about it. Busy indexing nil values Top Quote |

The thing with removing (replacing) the quote is difficult, because of the possibility of mixing different markups (markdown vs. bbcode). More over the generated html from bbcode isn't really nice, imho: E.g. this bbcode snipped:
produces this html:
Each linebreak will be converted to a Anyway i have a solution for excluding/replacing quotes with mixed markup. But i m not sure to propose it, unless parsing bbcode should produce better html which would make excluding/replacing of quotes much easier. Top Quote |

Maybe I might offend someone by asking that, but what's the point of supporting both markdown and bbcode? People really need to use both? Even big "forums" like reddit, facebook don't support both. That would simplify your problem a lot I guess IMO if people know how to use bbcode they would easily learn how to use markdown. And it seems markdown is getting more and more popular. BBcode, I don't see much of it anymore edit: while on the topic of the latest post. I think a nice feature to add would be to send to the revelant page where the words searched is mentioned rather that the first page directly Edited: 2019-07-28, 15:47

I don't need bbcode too... but there are some people who want to use this markup. I have already an idea to fix it, but other things are more important. The TOC in the latest Posts view is now available
Can you explain? Edited: 2019-08-05, 18:11
